"You want what you're wearing to say something about you - about who you are." - Emma Watson
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I love to style different outfits for my trips to SeaWorld, zoos, and aquariums. In this blog post, I’m going to share some tips with you that I use when planning my outfits!
Tip #1: Wear your park-bought gear.
Whenever I’m not sure of what to wear to a park, I can always count on the clothes I bought on a previous visit. These tend to be t-shirts, sweatshirts, and spirit jerseys, which are not only cute, but also comfy. And they look cute in pictures!
Tip #2: Match the vibe of the park.
Think about what colors are in the park you’re going to. Zoos tend to have an earthy vibe with greens, browns, and reds, while aquariums have an assortment of blues and tropical prints. I never recommend only wearing certain outfits for the ‘gram, BUT if you have an intention of taking a cute picture at the park, think about what color(s) would look nice with your background.
Tip #3: Design your outfit based on a specific item.
Often times there will be one clothing piece that I am super excited to wear, like a hat, shoes, shirt, mask, etc. I will start out with that single item, and then build an outfit around it by picking out other pieces of clothing that go together.
Tip #4: Incorporate your own style.
I’m a firm believer in the quote at the top of this page, which I feel like goes along perfectly with this tip. Go back and read it if you missed it! 🙂 Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident so you can enjoy your day to the fullest! Also, remember to wear clothing that is appropriate for the weather and a full day of walking.
Tip #5: Wear what makes you happy.
You know what makes me happy? Whales. So, I love wearing clothes with whales on them. Find what makes you happy, and wear that! Honestly, I used to be a little embarrassed to be fully decked-out in my animal-themed hat, shirt, sweatshirt, mask, sunglasses, you name it. But now, I embrace it! Be proud of who you are and what you enjoy, even if you feel different than other people.
So, the next time you are headed to a zoo or aquarium, pick out an outfit that expresses who you are, shows your individual style, and above all, makes you feel happy!
